Exploring what it means REGENERATION

JM

Jose Ma Mon 15 Feb 2021 5:27PM

In the book of Daniel Wahl designing Regenerative Cultures he shares the graph (regenerative framework).

Who invite me to understand that regeneration is not only what we do (having possitive impact, leaving things better that we found them), also has the connotation of where our acts are comming from and then the framework invites us to be nature once againand to act from there.

This seccond image I share, it is a bit more recent and it talks about the concept bio-philia which I recognize as bizarre and funny in the same time. As well as the concept of regenerative development what also invites us to understand regeneration as a process in which we are becoming nature again and learning to see with new eyes.

It changes the perspective from human-centric to a more nature-centric and for example the design emerges from what the context landscape and also current living community want to express and to become and not so much from what we perceive it could be the path of development.

I want to also share, what is consider the three lines of regenerative development.
That deeply invide us to start our work from within before starting to project outside our fears or shadows. To then nurture and grow capabilities in the people around us (community and team) to then online arrove to improve the health of the whole system.

This is somehow shared in the article I wrote about: Why personal development catalizes collective change: https://medium.com/@josemariadonadolo/personal-development-catalysing-collective-change-49c01ac7ee1c

Exploring what it means INTEGRAL

To understand integral what first comes to my mind is integral apporach (https://spiraldynamicsintegral.nl/en/about-sdi/integral-theory/).
And inside of it the 4 quadrants to understan reality that Ken Wilber have stated.
This approach is used to understand reality integrally, recognizing the different factors and perspectives that must be taken into accound when we want to understand something.

This 4quadrants are formed by the divission between: Individual and collective + interior(subective) and exterior (objective)

Moreover we could talk about integral in terms of human needs. Here is where the concept of Integral Cooperatives emerge, the way of orghanization that is promoting cooperating between peers to satisfy the whole range of needs they have.
Here I share a picture from the H3Uni (https://www.h3uni.org/). It is relevant to note that all the systems mention are living in relationships and are inter-dependent.

Exploring what it means EVOLUTION

In terms of individual and also collective development Spyral Dynamics as well as Integral approach have studied the evolution of consciousness throughout the human story and have identified kind of archetypal figures that could allow us to understand what are the different stages of evolution in consciousness.
Here I share a super brief summary all in one pic about the more relvant things on Integral approach. (I am very happy to explore with conversation all those topics):
