Block, report etc – what's the status on curation & moderation tools?

Hi! Today, boring but annoying, my blog got followed by a federation bot. What I do on my other fediverse accounts when that happens is that I block it, and I report it in case my instance admins want to get rid of it altogether. So that's when I noticed that in Plume 0.2.0, there aren't any options like that.

Personally, as a user, it's important to me to be able to block accounts. That means that they don't see my posts, and I don't see theirs, ever. If they try to interact with me, I don't see any of that either. Blocking someone should also cut any ties between us if they exist – make them unfollow me, and me unfollow them.

Then, it is important to me that my admins have easy ways to suspend users and block whole instances, to deal with targeted abuse as we have seen it in other parts of the fediverse.

To connect these two levels, as a user I'd like to have the ability to report an account or a post to my admins.

What's the status of features like that? Are any already in the making, and if not, what are the plans / where are these conversations happening? I searched github, but I didn't find anything related to this.

Thanks :)

Hello! For the moment the moderation features are quite basic. Admins can only block an instance (all activities coming from this instance will then be rejected), or ban an user (which just deletes their account). However we understand it is important to have solid moderation tool to prevent harassment, spam and annoying follow bots. ^ So we will work on moderation features in the next versions. Nothing really clear is planned for the moment, excepted that we want to have implemented them all before the first stable release.

I hope it answers your questions. :)

Cool, thank you :) Yes, that answers my questions. I'm excited for everything that's to come for Plume.
