Topics for TownHall meeting
We invite you to suggest what you believe is important for the future of our community : is it the language we use ? the way we communicate ? a feedback of what we've done ? events to create during the year ? ... The agenda is yours : make your voice heard (in French, English or Dutch)
So Fri 8 Feb 2019 12:26PM
Considering the current debate I wish to suggest the following first point : What is our FB group purpose ?
--> what are the rules for posts ? At the moment there is a "soft line" for events and invitations posted on the group but should we adopt a "hard line" ? Id hard defined by decommodification or more ? Does it make any difference who posts the event (are moderators burners like others ?) ? On which rule / evaluation do moderators base their (re)action ?
--> starting by : who is moderator of the group ? How many do we need ? Do they need specific roles ? Should we elect them & for how long ? So far the 6 of us have been added on request
I'll be happy to debate my involvement as I don't believe I have more legitimacy than anyone else or am less prompt to misjudgment just because I'm more active :)

Another topic I'd like to add: next Town Halls
- Should we want regular events? With which frequency?
- How can we try to improve the organisation?
- How can we try to improve the event itself?

WonderBE ASBL
We now have a strong solid base for organising events. Last week there has been the birth of the WonderBE ASBL. We started this to make sure we are meeting all the legal requirements for Wonderburn, but it also creates a foundation for ANY other events that are being held within or organised by the Belgian Burner community. What The Farm for example will be under this umbrella too.
Points to discuss:
- What is WonderBE and why was it started
- What’s the purpose of WonderBE
- What can the WonderBE ASBL do for you or your event
Wonderburn
(tentative, pending the event will take place)
Points to discuss:
- What is Wonderburn and when will it take place
- Call for participation
RC
Points to discuss:
- What are the official tasks required by BM org for an RC
- What do we as the Belgian Community expect from the RC
- How is this being done currently
- Do we want the RC to be elected
- Can we have an RC appointed for a period of time instead of for ever
Facebook Group Moderators
Points to discuss:
- what do we expect from moderators
- do we want the moderators to be elected
- can we have moderators appointed for a period of time instead of for ever
- what approach should we have for FB posts
- create a set of rules

What's RC, Mike?
Q. Tue 12 Feb 2019 1:51PM
@sean , I guess it means Burning Man Regional Contact.
So Wed 13 Feb 2019 11:36AM
Regarding the Regional Contact role & mandate better read this to avoid false expectations : https://regionals.burningman.org/becoming-a-regional-contact/
1. We do have an existing RC
2. His role is defined (check https://regionals.burningman.org/becoming-a-regional-contact/regional-leadership-criteria/) even if we can discuss with him about "wanting more" as a community
3. There is no term to the mandate from BMORG (but we can discuss how the community sees it)
4. There are no per se elections but an official procedure to select a (new) RC starting from BMorg too
SYN Thu 14 Feb 2019 12:36PM
Still, as already discussed in the past, there could be more than one RC, as it is the case in France, namely. In Belgium it would make perfect sense to have two for example, one french-speaking and one dutch-speaking. Even if we all do our best to speak in english, having contacts that can talk to people in their native language sure is a plus for inclusion.
In this view, I think Mike's topics shouldn't be disregarded too fast. :)
So Thu 14 Feb 2019 5:51PM
no one is disregarding it (just mentioning to have realistic expectations 1. that the role is quite defined by BMORG and 2. that we can discuss having more than one - I support this - but this is a decisions AND a process that is initiated and organised by BMORG too) but if we have to write down an agenda from all suggestion let's know what we can change (obv not the role BMORG expect from them) and how to do it since we don't start from scratch ;)
So Fri 8 Mar 2019 10:20AM
So the townhall is scheduled : hurrah !! Practical question : in several threads it was mentioned that the first one would be to debate about an agenda. @q On the event you mention deciding the agenda and working on it for 3 hours : how do you consider preparing points that haven't been decided yet ?

Not sure what "thread has been moved" but I cannot find my first post anymore ...
