RIPESS Europe - Solidarity Economy Europe - Scientific Committee

Mailing list : scientific-committee@ripess.eu

Members : to be confirmed

Referent : Laura Aufrère

Description : Ripess Eu recently endorsed The International Manifesto for the Solidarity Economy carried by the world of academic research for the World Forum on Transformative Economies. It now seems important to use the Manifesto as a tool to reach out for and gather other academics, students, etc. that RIPESS Eu members are already working with or identify as such, in order to launch a more active and open scientific life,  share some common ground with new people from the scientific field at large. This workshop will open a space to present and discuss propositions in that perspective : every member is welcome to share its experience with the academic world, the bridges already existing or missing, the expectations regarding the development of such academic bonds, etc.

GA meeting report :  By Luciane Lucas, member of the scientific committee :

The scientific committee had its first working group during this 2020 RIPESS Eu GA! Scientific research is being developed inside RIPESS Europe network, and in cooperation with its members. As many members have testified of the struggle to be recognised as transformative initiatives, rather than business as usual with a tint of social orientation, the scientific committee aims to participate in the visibility of social solidarity economy, and reinforcing the capacity to develop scientific work dedicated to social solidarity economy, based on RIPESS Europe members initiatives. The committee will help disseminate the Manifesto for Solidarity Economy : the manifesto was written and signed by scholars and researchers from various continents (Africa, America, Asia, Europe) who have been working for a long time with practioners involved in solidarity economy, to interpellate public authorities in regard to their support to this emerging economy. It was presented during the FSMET. We will organize a specific webinar to present it and discuss it with RIPESS members. The committee will also organize online seminars to open on a series of topics to fertilize RIPESS Eu inquiries and exploration with perspectives that are still not discussed a lot in the SSE movement, in particular the feminist and decolonial perspective. It will also be an opportunity to present in depth research and to debate on specific notions and concepts  (such as collective action, social innovation, etc.).
